Demo presentations for software applications, video presentations for all sorts of products, video tutorials for a variety of tasks, interactive videos, and more – you can create a variety of video content with MadCap’s properly good video creation tool MadCap Mimic. With this versatile tool you can record, edit, preview, and publish all sorts of videos.

Download an installer, run it, and a setup wizard will show up and help you install MadCap Mimic on your Windows-powered PC. There is nothing complicated about getting MadCap Mimic up and running on your PC. The whole thing should take very little of your time and should require a minimal amount of effort on your part.

When you’re done with the installation process and you run MadCap Mimic, you will be presented with a “Welcome to MadCap Mimic” Getting Started Wizard. From the wizard's dialog you can choose to record a new movie, create a new movie collection, open an existing project, or load a bunch of video tutorials that will help you familiarize yourself with the MadCap Mimic video creation tool.

Speaking about videos, I invite you to check out this “Meet MadCap Mimic” video. The Quick Look video that accompanies this article very briefly presents MadCap Mimic. The “Meet MadCap Mimic” video does a proper job of presenting this video creation tool. And it’s funny too! I loved the part about “her mother” – you’ll know what I’m talking about if you watch the video.

MadCap Mimic’s interface is customizable. From the Options menu, the Interface submenu, you can choose one of two Menu Styles (Ribbon or Tool Strip) and you can choose one of three Active Themes (Black, Classic, Silver). No matter what style or what theme you pick, MadCap Mimic’s interface remains easy to navigate and user friendly.
